If you’ve been watching us on Instagram, you may have noticed there is a brand new treatment at Sona Wellness! Our new Ballancer® Pro, which offers relaxing, effective, lymphatic drainage!
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve personally googled “lymphatic drainage in Kelowna,” wanting to add this specialty treatment to my own personal health regime. Other than a few RMT’s that specialize in this niche, there wasn’t much out there. I’ve had my eye on the Ballancer Pro since visiting Dave Asprey’s Upgrade Labs in Victoria, and knew it would be the perfect addition to Sona Wellness, and compliment the other treatments offered in our space. This is RIGHT up our alley. We want to include treatments, therapies, and programs that help support our bodies and promote optimal wellness right now, and for your future.
But why is our lymphatic system so important? Our lymphatic system plays an important role in our body’s immune response, helping to fight infection and disease. When the lymphatic system becomes sluggish or compromised, it can lead to various health issues and symptoms. Here are some of the consequences of a sluggish lymphatic system:
- Lymphedema: One of the primary consequences of a sluggish lymphatic system is the development of lymphedema. Lymphedema is a condition characterized by swelling and fluid retention in the affected body part. It commonly occurs in the arms or legs and can cause discomfort, heaviness, and limited mobility.
- Weakened immune function: The lymphatic system plays a crucial role in the body’s immune response. When the lymphatic system is sluggish, it may result in a weakened immune function. This can make individuals more susceptible to infections, viruses, and other illnesses.
- Chronic fatigue: A sluggish lymphatic system can contribute to feelings of chronic fatigue and low energy levels. The impaired lymphatic circulation can hinder the body’s ability to eliminate toxins and waste products efficiently, leading to a buildup of metabolic byproducts that can cause fatigue.
- Increased susceptibility to infections: The lymphatic system helps filter and remove bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens from the body. When it is sluggish, the body’s defense mechanisms against infections may be compromised, increasing the risk of recurrent infections and prolonged recovery times.
- Digestive issues: The lymphatic system plays a role in the absorption of fats and fat-soluble nutrients from the digestive system. If the lymphatic system is sluggish, it can affect the proper digestion and absorption of these nutrients, leading to digestive issues such as bloating, constipation, and nutrient deficiencies.
- Skin problems: A sluggish lymphatic system can contribute to skin problems such as dryness, acne, and dull complexion. The accumulation of waste products and toxins can lead to skin congestion and inflammation.
- Swollen lymph nodes: When the lymphatic system is not functioning optimally, lymph nodes may become swollen and tender. This is often a sign that the lymphatic system is working harder to remove toxins or fight off an infection.
It’s important to address a sluggish lymphatic system to promote overall health and well-being. Our lymphatic system does not have it’s own pump, unlike the circulatory system (our wonderful heart!). And so it relies on external manipulation to move our lymph. Activities such as regular exercise, dry brushing, and manual lymphatic massage help promote this drainage.
Lymphatic drainage typically involves the use of gentle massage or pressure applied to specific areas of the body to promote the flow of lymphatic fluid. This technique helps to move excess fluid and waste products out of the body’s tissues and into the lymphatic system, where they can be processed and eliminated. The Ballancer® Pro is a pneumatic compression device that is commonly used for lymphatic drainage. The device consists of inflatable sleeves that are wrapped around the affected body part and connected to a control unit that regulates the air pressure.
The benefits of using the Balancer Pro for lymphatic drainage include:
- Boost your immune system. The lymphatic system plays a critical role in the immune system, and by improving lymphatic function, the Ballancer Pro may help to enhance our immune function.
- Enhance circulation & lymphatic flow. The device applies pressure to the affected area, which helps to stimulate lymphatic circulation and move excess fluid out of the area.
- Accelerate recovery from muscle soreness. The compression therapy helps to reduce muscle soreness and recover quicker.
- Reduce swelling & edema
- Reduce fluid retention
- Enhance body contouring, reduce bloating, tone-up and improve skin health. The Ballancer Pro helps improve the tone of skin and may reduce the appearance of cellulite.
- Flush-out toxins, excess waste & lactic acid
Overall, the Ballancer® Pro can be a useful tool for individuals with lymphatic issues, as it can help to improve circulation, reduce swelling and inflammation, and enhance immune function. It is a 360 degree relaxing massage, that calculates the circumference of your legs, to apply the exact pressure for your individual lymphatic drainage experience!
